Hi, my name is Barry Keane and I developed Denial to open the door of communication between parents and children about a difficult subject. Young children are commencing the use of tobacco, drugs and alcohol 5 years earlier than older generations. They are ill prepared to understand the consequences and unaware of how their choices now will effect their entire future.
Denial is a bridge for parents to discuss a difficult subject in the safe environment of their home. The same bridge is open for teachers and students and communities of all kinds.
According to curriculum consultants the game board holds a student's attention much better than a lecture. Public health nurses, say Denial is well received in the community. Ministers, teachers, parents and kids alike, agree that Denial is a wonderful way to learn about substance abuse, the consequences and the choices.
I am committed to translating the game to other languages and to incorporate the slang and jargon of other countries and cultures. If you feel you can assist in this please contact me.
Give a Kid a Future, that's my goal, that's what this is all about ! |
